TELECABLE CENTRAL REDUCED ELECTRICITY BILL BY SOLAR

The Telecable Central project is a 600kW fixed, ground mount installation in La Vega City in the Dominican Republic. The array was built by Wiren in the back yard of the television station using 958 Canadian Solar KuMax 355W poly crystalline modules. The system annual output is 693.5 MWh. CHALLENGE Availability Although pricing was competitive from several vendors, availability became the critical issue to resolve. Other suppliers were not able to immediately deliver the quantity required to complete the project. SOLUTION Local Warehousing The quantity of modules required for the Telecable Central project was available in the Canadian Solar warehouse in Panama and could arrive at the site within two weeks versus waiting for a shipment to arrive from the factory. VALUE Distributed Warehousing By having modules available locally Canadian Solar allowed Wiren to begin work immediately and complete the project in a significantly shorter time. Additionally, the station was able to reduce the electricity bill by 85%.
