INTERNATIONAL ESG INITIATIVES, CERTIFICATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS

We have achieved elevated ratings and certifications from international third-party organizations. In 2025, our ISS ESG Corporate Rating was upgraded from B to B+, and we maintained our EcoVadis Silver rating while advancing to industry top 4%. In addition, our solar cell factory in Suqian, Jiangsu Province, China earned Silver-level recognition under the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Validated Assessment Program (VAP) in 2025. Our Suqian solar cell factory and Baotou ingot factory also achieved Solar Stewardship Initiative (SSI) ESG Silver and Bronze certifications, respectively, in 2025. Additionally, approximately 90% of our factories are certified to ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), 80% to ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), 80% to ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System), and 35% to ISO 50001 (Energy Management System). These recognitions demonstrate our commitment to maintaining high standards of product quality, environmental stewardship, energy conservation, and operational safety.  

ENVIRONMENTAL

From 2017 to 2025, we lowered greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, energy, water, and waste intensities in our solar manufacturing operations by 60%, 45%, 79%, and 58%, respectively. These achievements were driven by enhanced production efficiency, the implementation of robust energy and water conservation programs, as well as the increased power output of our solar modules. We have updated our 5-year rolling sustainability targets, aiming to reduce GHG emissions, energy, water, and waste intensities by 24%, 25%, 19%, and 14%, respectively, across our solar manufacturing operations from our 2025 levels by 2030. For our battery energy storage system manufacturing operations, we aim to achieve GHG emissions, energy, water, and waste intensity reductions of 47%, 52%, 54%, and 42%, respectively, relative to 2025 levels by 2030. In 2025, our greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), reinforcing our commitment to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across our value chain by 2050.

Enhancing Employee Engagement and Shared Growth: CSI Solar provides equal employment opportunities and is committed to building a diverse workforce. The company continues to create job opportunities for people with disabilities, with disabled employees accounting for approximately 1% of the workforce in 2025. Active Community Engagement: The company actively fulfills its social responsibilities by integrating public welfare into its operations. In 2025, CSI Solar participated in various initiatives, including charity runs and programs supporting people with disabilities, creating lasting positive value for society. Biodiversity Protection: CSI Solar places strong emphasis on protecting ecosystems and biodiversity. It conducts environmental assessments in line with local regulations to avoid impacts on protected areas, and works to reduce pollution and waste in daily operations. For new and expansion projects, environmental impact assessments are conducted to evaluate potential effects, including on species diversity. Through scientific analysis, public consultation, and expert review, targeted measures are implemented to minimize ecosystem disruption and support sustainable development.

GOVERNANCE

Ensure Steady ESG Progress CSI Solar has established a three-tier ESG governance structure to support effective strategy execution and oversight. Through continuous stakeholder engagement and diversified communication channels, the Company identifies material ESG topics, refines sustainability priorities, and drives ongoing improvements in ESG performance. Stakeholder Engagement Guided by openness, transparency, and collaboration, CSI Solar actively engages with stakeholders through multiple channels. Stakeholder feedback is integrated into decision-making and continuous improvement, enabling timely responses and the creation of long-term shared value. Strengthening Compliance Governance and Whistleblower Mechanisms CSI Solar continuously strengthens its compliance management program and integrates requirements relating to business ethics, anti-bribery and anti-corruption, antitrust, human rights protection, and whistleblower management into its daily operations.
