  Canadian Solar Inc. (CSI) is seeking an energetic and creative individual possessing a strong background in sales and marketing for the position "Director of Sales-USA". As a key member of the management team, the selected candidate will manage the US Sales and Marketing activities for CSI Solar and its China subsidiaries. The position will be based in the USA reporting to the VP Corporate and Products Development.

Background:

CSI is a progressive solar (PV) based company founded in 2001 in Canada. CSI currently has four manufacturing facilities based in China. CSI Solar produces standard solar (PV) modules, specialty modules and complete solar based products.

The company currently sells the majority of its products into Europe and now wishes to diversify its geographical base into the United States.The company sells to large distributors or applications developers. The selected individual will be responsible to develop sales opportunities and manage those opportunities. There is significant opportunity for advancement as the company expands its area of focus.

The successful candidate will have a passion for success, a track record of results in the PV field, an established network of contacts, a willingness to travel, work hard and have some fun at the same time. This is a demanding positioning. The successful candidate will be expected to build a sales portfolio, develop a pipeline for future sales opportunities and very soon build a US sales and marketing organization. Remuneration is commensurate with the high importance of this position.

Your responsibilities include:

- Identify appropriate new sales opportunities in selected markets
- Make the sale and manage key accounts within these markets.
- Introduce new product and marketing activities into selected US markets and customers.
- Develop and achieve sales targets and work within mutually determined budgets
- Represent the company at various trade show and conferences
- Provide competitive intelligence feedback on a regular basis.
- Build and maintain long term relationships both within and external to the company
- Collaborate with sales application engineers to develop specialty module and products sales.
- Collaborate with CSI Marketing personnel to develop and implement the US marketing programs.
- Collaborate with CSI Business Development personnel to develop alliances and joint ventures.

Requirements:

- Five years plus track record in sales, preferably PV related.
- Developed network and contacts in the marketplace
- Post secondary education with a technical orientation.
- A good understanding of the PV global market and in particular the USA PV market.
- Strong negotiation, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Currently residing in the US Mid West or California.
- A desire to succeed, take on more responsibility and advance within the company.
